WE CONTINUE OUR WORK FOR THE 9/11 COMMUNITY DURING THE CORONAVIRUS HEALTH CRISIS

April 1, 2020 | Michael Barasch

Important Information for the 9-11 Community Regarding the Coronavirus Update

Like you, we’re closely monitoring the latest news about the coronavirus. It is our mission to serve the 9/11 community, and we will continue our work throughout this health crisis. Our office is open, and our dedicated attorneys and staff are hard at work. In an abundance of caution, some of our staff will begin working from home, and we have made sure that they have everything they need to do so effectively.

If you call the office, you may be asked to leave a message with an operator. Rest assured that we will get back to you quickly.

We encourage you to make liberal use of email, as this is the most efficient way to reach us during this health crisis. Please email your Claim Administrator. If you don’t have his or her email, feel free to send an email to BaraschMcGarry@baraschmcgarry.com.

The VCF has cancelled all hearings, but for now, it remains open. If this changes, we will let you know.

While the WTC toxins have indeed been linked to 68 cancers, they have also been linked to serious respiratory illnesses such as asthma, reactive airway disease, chronic bronchitis and sinusitis. Of course, no one is immune from the Coronavirus, but the 9/11 community in general, which includes over 400,000 responders, volunteers, office workers, downtown residents, and teachers/students, and those who have been diagnosed with cancer or respiratory illnesses in particular, are more vulnerable since their lungs and immune systems are compromised.

Our thoughts are with the all first responders who are on the front lines and who deal with the public regularly. Many of them have pulmonary conditions and other chronic diseases. They, and the elderly, are at the greatest risk for the severe consequences of this virus.

Our thoughts are with all of you and your well being during this scary time. Please follow the CDC’s advice to avoid large gatherings and diligently wash your their hands.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this rapidly evolving situation. The 9/11 community is always our foremost concern. Please stay safe, and know that we are here for you.

Respectfully,
Mike Barasch
